About the Institution

The Digital Conservatory

Moonwell operates at the intersection of cultural stewardship and emerging technology. Founded as a private study space for beginners, the conservatory treats code as a curatorial tool—training algorithms to read faded ink, infer lost geometries, and organize fragile archives with the patience of a conservator.

Our fellows work directly with partner museums, libraries, and archaeological teams. The result is not mere automation, but a deeper visibility into the past.

    Architectural surveys record interior frescoes before the building's conversion to commercial use.

    Water damage, paint-overs, and environmental neglect obscure the original pigment layers.

    Photographers capture high-resolution color film of exposed sections prior to temporary sealing.
